G Hub is supported on Windows 7 (older versions of G Hub), Windows 8, Windows 10, and Windows 11. You don’t need to uninstall LGS as long as it is up to date. You can download the latest version of G Hub from Logitech’s site here. G Hub also has a few extra features that are unrelated to setting up your mouse, it has OBS integration for streaming and Discord integrations. The major difference is that G Hub is laid out in a bit more of intuitive manner, going forward from 2019, all Logitech devices will use Logitech G Hub. G Hub currently doesn’t add any new functionality and currently only supports more recently released Logitech gear. Logitech G Hub is a modern version of their gaming software, Logitech Gaming Software was developed in the early 2010’s. In 2023, it’s time to say goodbye to Logitech Gaming Software, newer Logitech products only support G Hub, and the software has gotten more reliable over time. It is actively being updated and is improving in reliability over time. G Hub currently only supports modern Logitech gaming devices and is in early access. Logitech G Hub is Logitech’s newer offering with a sleeker and more modern UI.

Going forward, newer Logitech’s after the Logitech G Pro Wireless will no longer support LGS. Logitech Gaming Software has been around much longer and supports more devices, it has an older UI that has looked the same for years but has generally been more reliable. Right now, there are two software options to customize and set your Logitech gaming peripherals. The warranty process is fine - it's customer care that's taken a hit, and that's the part that troubles me. In the past, one could get a discount on a new product, incentive to remain a Logitech user. The thing is that they never promised a new mouse for exchange outside of the warranty window. The new Logitech G502 I have in front of me has a 3-year limited hardware warranty, so it would appear that at least some of their gaming products have greater than 2 years of warranty coverage. I've bought far too many Logitech products, and so far save for the MX700, none had broke within 3 years, so I remain skeptically confident of Logitech's quality, but hopefully there won't be a day when I have to deal with customer support. Why promise a new mouse for exchange, when no one else is doing this? Why promise warranty so far into the future, when the one single component that is most likely to randomly break (the switch) is not really in Logitech's control? With cost of production rising, and the overall maximum people are willing to spend on peripherals capped (~$120), it really isn't surprising that warranty is taking the hit.
Logitech's legendary customer service was its greatest strength brand-wise, but from a corporate standpoint also a huge liability. If that's not a clear sign that Logitech doesn't care about warranty anymore, I don't know what is. All gaming products now have 2 years of warranty (down from 3~5 years), and all non-gaming ones have 1 year of warranty (even the MX Master).
